Born in New York City, Lama Dawa grew up in a multicultural
family in Europe and speaks English, German and French fluently.
After being educated in Germany and the US, he became the
student of the great Mahamudra master Gendun Rinpoche at
Dhagpo Kundreul Ling in France. In his early twenties, Dawa
entered into the traditional 3-year meditation retreat and
was ordained as a Buddhist monk. After finishing his second
consecutive retreat where he received the transmission
of the Karma Kagyu Lineage, Dawa began teaching throughout
Europe and the US.
Prior to embarking on a spiritual journey, Lama Dawa pursued
advanced studies in the arts, a career in the entertainment
industry and worked with severely ill cancer and cardiac
patients. Today, Dawa devotes his time to practice, deepening
his studies on dharma and languages, and aiding those on
the spiritual path.
