Lama Yeshe Nyingpo was born in Paris in 1952. After meeting
Lama Gendun Rinpoche in 1981, Lama Yeshe became his devoted
student and translator, and committed himself to monastic
life the following year. In 1984, Lama Yeshe worked with Gendun
Rinpoche to establish Dhagpo Kundreul Ling, a traditional
three-year retreat center in the Auvergne, France.
By 1993, Lama Yeshe had completed two consecutive three-year
retreats where he received the entire transmission of the
Kagyü lineage. In 1994, Lama Yeshe was designated as
one of the main spiritual teachers of Dhagpo with particular
responsibility for directing the men's three-year retreats.
Since then, Lama Yeshe's activity has consisted of working
to preserve the Kagyü transmission, translating texts
and guiding practitioners on the path of meditation.
