BlueTongue Homes Wins Top Home Design Awards | Campbelltown-Macarthur Advertiser

Gregory Hills-based BlueTongue Homes builders recently received two industry awards for their home designs.

The company was recognized at the 2018 Master Builder’s Association (MBA) NSW Southern Regions Construction Awards, held in Ulladulla.

BlueTongue won two awards on the night: Best Contract Home 2018 and Best Display Home 2018.

The first prize was for the company’s Sapphire 21 MKII design, while the second was for the Flinders 35 MKII design, currently on display at the Oran Park Exhibition Village.

Sapphire’s design was aimed at maximizing family space on a narrow lot.

“This home captures the contemporary lifestyle with an open-plan layout in the living room and kitchen, creating a fluid entertainment center that extends further outside onto a spacious and bright alfresco,” said the entrance to the BlueTongue homes.

“This modern four bedroom home has been cleverly designed to be extremely functional, provide excellent value for money to not only appeal to investors looking for a great return on their investment, but is also highly regarded by first-time buyers, young families and retirees seeking to downsize. . “

The design of the house included a chef’s kitchen, master suite, three bedrooms, media room, bathroom and utility room.

The Oran Park exhibition house (pictured above) was designed to be a modern industrial style two story house for a narrow ‘trendy’ block.

“What we wanted to achieve was a modern industrial themed dwelling both inside and out that didn’t lose touch with the natural feel of a home,” their entry said.

“With developments now shifting more towards smaller homes, the design had to fit into a narrow block while still providing all the space homeowners want and need.

“The flexible nature of this spacious, open-plan layout with its indoor / outdoor flow and easy-to-use entertainment areas make it the ideal home for many homeowners.

“This project was carried out by an excellent construction team who worked in unison throughout the project, hand in hand with the designer.”

BlueTongue used “unconventional” materials – including a lightweight, rendered foam core concrete cladding – to create a unique look.

The design also incorporated exposed structural steel and characteristic ceilings.

BlueTongue Homes is a family business founded by brothers Craig and Wayne Pierce. They mainly work in the Macarthur and Southern Highlands regions.
