Parade of Homes: Central Texas Home Builders Association prepares for annual event | Business

The 56th Annual Parade of Houses will feature eight residential properties ranging from Belton to Copperas Cove. Open days are scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. on April 24 and 25 and May 1 and 2.

“This year we struggled to keep the homes because they were selling so fast in our area,” said Teri Stemer, executive director of the Central Texas Home Builders Association. “It’s a good opportunity for people to see the houses that our builders have built. “

In addition to open houses for potential buyers, builders will compete for the best kitchen, bathroom, curb appeal, craftsmanship, and overall curb appeal of each home. Judges will come from out of town for most categories, but 30 local realtors have signed up to judge the curb appeal.

Two scholarships will be awarded to children of members of the constructors’ association during the launch party by invitation only, on Friday April 23.

Bailey Parker, who is expected to attend Texas A&M, and Jake Appleman, who attends Texas State Technical School in Waco, will each receive a $ 1,000 scholarship.

Jake’s mom Liz Appleman is from A&G Homes and Bailey’s dad Adam Parker is from Serenity Homes.

A Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced at the launch event, and will be awarded to a member of the construction industry community, Stemer said.

The SWBC Mortgage Company has sponsored the event for about 15 years, Stemer said.

The locations of the houses in the parade are as follows:

Dream Home Builders has two locations in the parade, the first at 1542 Niagara Heights in Belton listed at $ 769,900 and a second location at 2006 Box Canyon in Nolanville.
